How do you cope with brutality? Devastation, violation, destruction?

Image
How do you cope with brutality? What about devastation, violation, destruction?  Feel free to let me know. Some people never see that side of life, except on the television, and nowadays it is mass produced via social media. I have seen some ugly things in my life. I have been victimized, much more than I want to discuss here. Rape, gang-rape, murder, children dying, sisters institutionalized because of victimization, later institutionalized as law breakers..Suicide of many...oh so many. The list of atrocities is truly endless it seems.  I can not just sit here and write it all out... I qualify as a victorious warrior!  I am the only one in my immediate family (of 7) still alive. My extended family and my lil nuclear family have seen their share of horrendous victimization too. Where is the hope and strength when the battle continues? What to do when your children are victims? Perpetrators? Potential Victims? How do we protect? How do we appl...

Badassery In The Quiet

Image
Meditation, writing, gratitude... for what is, not the way I think it should be. In the truth. Facing challenges head on.  The badassery presents itself in many ways. Sometimes it's in the quiet. I have a list of wants, things I am powerless over. I have a list of needs, they have all been met. I have a list of what is, and that is where I need to be. I have a list of goals, many that others say are unobtainable. Living in the moment, seizing it, bathed in gratitude, I shall reach those goals! I have a list of prayers, too heavy to carry. They are not goals, wishes or wants... They are prayers... for only at the throne do they belong . ~shell # lucckettajournies   # lucckettanest   # liverdiseasebedamned   # gardentherapy # meditationishealing   # badassery   # seizetheday # imissyoujen

Rollercoaster Ride of Health

Image
Well, ding dang it. (that is my catch phrase for OH SH*!) We are back at the steep incline of this health rollercoaster ride. Before I even get started, I need to say that I wasn't as diligent as I should have been with my grit in the teeth, dirt tasting shake. I wasn't drinking it this past month or two. My stats were so good...(was it the shakes?) and the shakes felt too filling and were bogging me down. Daily Protein shake mix/mixed with Organic Orgain Protein.  The following mixed: Organic Beef Broth with Tumeric Protein Golden Milk Beet Juice Powder Moringa I am back on it with a one month "Get your act together" from the doctor. If things don't turn around and the platelets don't break into a zillion pieces, multiply or become more than 110. We start the Western Medicine route of oh crap ;) I have them convinced that perhaps my lack of diligence, affected my numbers, because honestly I shouldn't be doing as good as I really am ...

Meds/Herbs List Easy Access

Image
When sharing my meds list, really my Herbs List, I had noticed that one had to go through 6 pages of health writing to get to them. Here is my "Easy Peasy" List. The Post is here (FULL Regime) in my blog of ALL the info. My daily regime is what is saving my hiney. My daily herbs. I chew them so my stomach can absorb them. I look like I have dirt in my teeth when I am done, nothing a little brushing doesn't help. I only use organic, no fillers, hardly any rice (a little allergic) as much 100% of the herb per capsule. (Same with oils, only organic seed to bottle.) I save 10's of thousands of dollars, even though the herbs seem to add up sometimes! D3 5000 IU 1250% Natures Bounty Soft Gel Biotin 5000 166% Multi 50 & Wiser Vitamin Code Garden of Life (24 Multi, label included) Raw Iron  120% Vitamin Code Garden of Life Milk Thistle PLNT extract 250mg, Organic 200mg (I also use milk thistle drops in my water.) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Image
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly I have been planning for weeks to be blogging about "Food Prep." I am a failure at it, and of even blogging about it. The accountability is so necessary. Now I have a blog of a whole different color. We stay in the TRUTH.  I am not sure how to write this blog as I love to accentuate the positive. I truly believe we have so much say in what we think, how we feel and the choices that we make. I spent many years festering and fostering illnesses with my thinking, choices and bad behaviors. I also created hardship, heartache, fear and sometimes even terror in those who surrounded me. I have since spent many years now, making living amends through healthy living, thinking and growing to those I love and to so many who have gone before me. But, please, let me be very clear: WE DO NOT CREATE THE OUTCOME I have been blessed that healthier living has literally extended my years. I have had 4 wonderfully hard, well lived, we...

It's not always as it seems.- Making the Best of Today

Image
Happy Birthday to me! We have spent a weekend celebrating, laughing, singing and dancing. 58, feeling great! Smiles, laughter, celebrations.  It's not always as it seems.  We have been creating new memories of a day that is so very hard for me. It wasn't always so hard, but the past four years are nearly overwhelmingly painful. I couldn't focus on the pain. I have been too ill to let it have any say in my process. My physical health took priority as we were desperate to keep me alive. Now, with a wonderful therapist, incredible healing both physical and emotional, and a powerful support group, I am honest with the pain. 4 years ago was the last time I saw my father alive. It was on my birthday. It was a terrible experience as he was very ill and living in horrific conditions. It was also the last time I saw my brother and my eldest daughter. Both my father and brother have since died. My daughter chooses to not speak, hear from or have any contact wit...

OOOPS I waited to long.

Image
I I was headed to get something to eat and my tire blew. It not only blew but the steel radials blew my rear axle and side of my Jeep. Yes, I am ok. Shook up...the woulda coulda and shouldas. I knew I needed tires. I was getting a whole new set next week. Should I have put the spare on? Is it a dummy tire? Why didn't I check? I could have hurt someone. It's a story of life. We know there is a little damage, over in the corner, but we want to wait until we are better prepared to handle it, or can afford it, or until circumstances fit our comfort zone. We don't even try to see if there is a simple solution to get us by. Then the damage it can create is much bigger than looking for the solution. So much wreckage to clean, if we can. Some damage is irreparable. Walk through the moment, the best we can. I don't really like the word procrastination. I think the act includes so much more than a noun. I do like this definition though:  Procrastination  in ...
